Underground Energy has adopted an “early mover” approach to the acquisition of key acreage prospective for shale oil in Nevada with the goal of securing a low cost entry into multiple emerging resource plays.

To date the Company has acquired 27,446 net acres in Nevada with six sites prospective for shale oil. Although the geology is quite complex, existing discoveries have enjoyed high production rates. Identified shales have similar properties to the Bakken play in North Dakota. Prospective formations include Diamond Peak Sands, Guilmete Lime, Chainman, and Pilot Shales.
