of proven methods and technologies to address the specific
characteristics of each resource for optimum recovery, minimizing
environmental impacts and reducing costs. UE's competitive advantage for unconventional oil includes:
- The use of underground construction methods to access multiple production levels, avoid surface features and minimize surface impact
- The use of shafts, caverns, tunnels and horizontal wells to efficiently drain reservoirs
- The use of underground space for construction of wells, production facilities and EOR production
- The use of hydraulic mining technologies to excavate ultra-heavy and low permeability deposits
